Dr. Hires
Toledo native, J. Eric Hires, DDS, received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. Following graduation, he spent two years in the Navy, improving upon the skills he learned in dental school. After his return, he moved back home to start his career with one goal in mind – to assemble the most talented team of dental professionals in the area and grow to become Toledo’s leading dental practice, a goal, that today, he can proudly consider accomplished.
Dr. Hires has attended post graduate dental courses at some of the best teaching venues around. He successfully completed all coursework at Misch International Implant Institute and also studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, LVI, where he received premier post graduate training in advanced cosmetic dentistry. In addition, he has completed literally hundreds of hours in Continuing Education courses in all aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Hires strives to continually improve upon the technologies used and processes employed at Hires Dental Care. He stays current with emerging trends in dentistry, assuring his patients receive nothing but the best when it comes to their smiles.
Dr. Yaya
Dr. Yaya grew up in right here in Sylvania OH and was a proud Northview Wildcat.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Detroit Mercy where she was
president of Engineering and Science Student Council and was named Resident Advisor
of the year. Dr. Yaya went on to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and
graduated with Honors. During her time in Columbus, Dr. Yaya loved being a student
team dentist for OSU athletics. Dr. Yaya was a nominee for the Carl O. Boucher
Prosthodontic student award and was awarded the model professional scholarship for
demonstrating excellent professional behavior in the
areas of patient care.
Dr. Yaya wants to be your teammate in your dental care and takes great pride in her work. While she enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, Dr. Yaya is passionate about cosmetic dentistry (veneers, crowns, Invisalign) and implant dentistry to give you your best smile.
Dr. Ed
Dr. Ed Pantzlaff is our dentist with extensive experience and focus in oral surgery. He spent four years at the oral surgery residency at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where he earned his MD and published numerous scholarly articles. He is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed his undergraduate degree at Northwestern College (Iowa). While at Northwestern College, he was a pitcher on the school’s baseball team.
As a devoted student, Dr. Pantzlaff presented the findings of his research at many renowned meetings, including those of the American Association of Dental Research, the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, and the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Mike
Dr. Mike graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2014. He graduated near the top of his class, and regularly appeared on the Dean’s List. Since graduating dental school, he has joined the renowned SPEAR Study Club to enhance his skills and knowledge and attends Dental Conventions in Utah and Chicago. He is a member of the ADA, UDA, and AGD. He helps support our office when our dentist can’t be here.
Every decision he makes as a dentist is based on a belief in doing what is best for his patients. Getting to know his patients and improving their oral health and confidence are his favorite parts of his day.
Family is very important to Dr. Mike, and he can often be heard telling stories about his wife and his 2 daughters. He enjoys running, playing soccer, football, and ultimate frisbee. He can always be spotted with a cool pair of shoes on.
